The above 17th century lectern dovecote is the only one of its type in Clackmannanshire, and was included in several conservation audits carried out for the Clackmannanshire Heritage Trust by Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation. These provided the basis for obtaining grant aid and conserving some of the most important historic buildings in the county, to benefit the local community and tourism. Other monuments inspected included the Johnstone Mausoleum and Windmill doocot.
