Windmill Doocot

This 17th century vaulted windmill tower, later converted to a picturesque castellated dovecote, is one of several buildings we have audited for the Clackmannanshire Heritage Trust. The audit provided the basis for obtaining grant aid for its conservation to benefit the local community and tourism. Other monuments inspected included the Johnstone Mausoleum and Newmills doocot and we have designed a new house based on a similar doocot at Haggerston, which was also a converted windmill.
