Mill Conversion
This historic watermill with adjoining grain kiln and cartshed and granary, and seventeenth century datestone, had fallen out of use and was so ruinous that it was unsafe to enter, despite being a listed building. Our design has converted it into a comfortable new dwelling preserving important features such as the small granary windows and adjoining cartshed, enhancing its character and value. The 2-storey conservatory provides fine views of the river valley and surrounding hills, and also helps to make the mill more sustainable by providing passive solar gain; supplemented by a woodburning stove, insulation and double glazing to reduce its carbon footprint.
