Glanton Conservation Area
The rural hamlet of Glanton enjoys a fine landscape setting with panoramic vistas over the Vale of Wittingham. Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation's appraisal of Glanton conservation area included archival research to establish its medieval form and extensive photography to record its special features and character. In some cases these still reflect the early 19th century standard house specifications used in planning the village. In addition to the usual range of factors assessed, the appraisal identified buildings at risk, to encourage improvement of the quality of the townscape by sensitive re-use and adaptation, to benefit the local community.
