Wittingham Conservation Area
The historic village of Wittingham straddles the River Aln and may be the site of Twyford (ie 'two fords) mentioned by the Venerable Bede; a chuch was recorded here in 735 AD. Our appraisal of Wittingham conservation area included mapping listed buildings and character sub-areas, as well as replacement windows (below), and our recommendations for boundary changes were also shown graphically. We prefer to use graphical means of presentation to communicate our findings, so that they can be easily assimilated and used in publications to promote the benefits of the conservation area to residents and developers.
