Airthrey CastleDesigned by the famous Scottish architects Robert and James Adam in 1791 for Robert Haldane, Airthrey Castle represents a late example of Adam's castellated style. After it became the centrepiece of the new University of Stirling in 1966, it was adapted as teaching and office accommodation. We carried out historic research and a wheelchair movement study, and advised on the design of access improvements to ensure a viable future for this important historic building in the context of a working university, where access for all is a central consideration.
