Craster

The conservation area scoping study of the fishing port of Craster, carried out by Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation, included its famous traditonal smoke houses. Basic archival research and site inspections were carried out to identify its special architectural and townscape features and historic interest, negative and neutral areas and environmental trends.

The study recommended statutory protection of a potential Craster conservation area and suggested possible boundaries, resulting in further detailed studies and consultations with local people.
