Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation's conservation area scoping study of the coastal village of Embleton included archival research and site inspections to highlight its special architectural and townscape features and historic interest, negative and neutral areas and environmental trends.

The study recommended statutory protection of the large potential Embleton conservation area, resulting in further detailed studies and consultations with local people.
