Holy Trinity Church, Melrose

Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church, Melrose, was designed for the Duchess of Buccleuch by Benjamin Ferry in the Early English style and dates from 1846-50. In 1899 Hay & Herdman added a Decorated style chancel and transepts and the Arts and Crafts fleche. It has fine stained glass windows dating from 1850 to 1903, including work by Powell, Kemp and Comper.

Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation advised in an extensive programme of grant aided repairs to the windows, including adding protective grilles, as well as high level masonry works to the belfry (see below) to ensure its safety.
