St Peter's Kirk, Sandwick

The fine limewashed exterior

Clearly visible from the World Heritage Site of Skara Brae, St Peter's Kirk, in Sandwick, Orkney, is a remarkably preserved pre-Disruption parish church, one of only a few in Scotland untouched by modern innovations such as electricity and running water...

Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation carried out an access audit and made recommendations for possible improvements to enable more people, including disabled people, to enjoy the special atmosphere of this historic church, which has been restored by the Scottish Redundant Churches Trust. The consultancy has also carried out an access audit of Cromarty East Parish Church and advised the charity on its disability access policy for all its properties.
