Collingwood Arms hotel is a typical coaching inn dating from the mid eighteenth century, when it was an important stage on journeys between Edinburgh, Newcastle and London. We carried out archival research and site evaluations to determine its date and historic development, and inform proposals for restoration and refurbishment.
