Historic Farm Buildings

Horse engine house or 'gin gang'

Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation were appointed to prepare a management plan for this horse engine house, part of a set of traditional farm buildings dating from the early eighteenth century which had survived in a modern working farm, including the cart shed and smithy below. The plan included surveying the buildings, and carrying out archival research into their history and use.

After drawing up a detailed scheme of repairs the consultancy obtained competitive tenders from suitable specialist contractors to enable the works to be carried out with grant aid.
