Barrow Mill Corn Drying Kiln

The ruined kiln, preserved by the Northumberland National Park Authority

All that remains of Barrow Mill is the ruin of an eighteenth century tower corn drying kiln, a rare and valuable relic from the age of farming improvement and part of the tourist interest of the Northumberland National Park. Our condition report highlighted a number of urgent repairs and led on to a scheme of conservation works and competitve tenders being obtained by the consultancy for works to ensure its survival.
