Monuments

Robin Kent Architecture & Conservation has advised on a wide range of tombs, monuments, memorials, follies and other structures that embody cultural values as their primary function.

The commemorative and symbolic functions of monuments and public sculpture make them especially interesting parts of our built heritage and we particularly enjoy the research and teamwork which defining the significance and cultural value of monuments, and diagnosing their defects and problems involves, working with top consultants, scientists and specialists as well as skilled craftsmen. Our approach is always to preserve the 'patina of age', accepting a certain amount of natural decay as part of the special historic character of such monuments, and specifying unobtrusive, minimal repairs. At the same time, we aim to enhance access and presentation, so that they continue to give interest and pleasure to as many people as possible.
